What is

VIP Nasal Spray

Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide (VIP) is a multifunctional neuropeptide that acts as both a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator, influencing diverse systems in the body. It is a potent vasodilator, helping regulate smooth muscle activity, blood flow, and epithelial secretions in the gastrointestinal tract.

Beyond digestive health, VIP plays a significant role in:

  • Central nervous system regulation — including synchronizing circadian rhythms in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN)

  • Immune system modulation — balancing inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses

  • Respiratory health — exerting bronchodilatory effects and improving oxygenation

Due to its broad physiological reach, VIP Nasal Spray is being explored for conditions such as neurodegenerative disorders, chronic inflammatory illnesses, gut dysbiosis, and respiratory dysfunction.

Benefits

  • Acts as a potent vasodilator to improve blood flow
  • Supports gut motility and digestive health
  • Regulates immune response and reduces inflammation
  • Promotes brain health and circadian rhythm regulation
  • Enhances respiratory function via bronchodilation
  • Potential therapeutic role in autoimmune and neurodegenerative disorders

Protocols

Content & Potency:

  • 50 mcg/spray nasal applicator

    • 1 spray in alternating nostrils

    • 1–4 times daily, depending on medical guidance

Dosage may vary depending on condition, response, and specialist recommendation.

  • Avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed

  • Caution in patients with severe hypotension due to vasodilatory effects

  • Not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity to VIP or related compounds

  • Baseline health assessment for neurological, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular status

  • Ongoing monitoring of symptoms and response to therapy

  • Compliance with dosing intervals for consistent results

Procedure

Reconstitution

  • Not required — supplied ready-to-use as a nasal spray

  • Gently shake the bottle before use

  • Prime the spray if first-time use

  • Tilt head slightly forward

  • Insert nozzle into one nostril, closing the other nostril with a finger

  • Press down to release 1 spray (50 mcg) while inhaling gently

  • Alternate nostrils with each dose

  • Use 1–4 times daily as directed

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight

  • Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use

  • Keep out of reach of children

Clinical Research

Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide in the Regulation of Gastrointestinal, Neurological, and Immune Function

Source:

Journal of Molecular Neuroscience, 2021

Results:

Demonstrated that VIP exerts multi-system benefits, including regulation of gut motility, modulation of inflammatory cytokines, and neuroprotective effects via circadian rhythm stabilization. Noted bronchodilatory potential in respiratory disorders.
